April was a total blur.
And to be perfectly honest – I was not entirely confident that this post was actually going to happen before the month was over. The weeks are just flying by, are they not?
May is right around the corner and with it the beginning of summer. Sure, it might still be snowing in Germany but in Arizona, the preparations for the dog days are well underway. School is out in just a few short weeks (say it ain’t so!) and since it is forecasted to hit 100 degrees here in a couple of days, I thought it was appropriate to share what I’ve been loving going into the hot season…
One might wonder why I, of all people, would give anyone time saving advice.
Quite frankly, I hate being rushed and totally suck at getting ready quickly. Sure, vanity is involved and all the double cleansing, dry brushing, face masking,
IG checking may have something to do with it but to be perfectly honest – I also just love spending time in the bathroom. It is my little sanctuary where the small people living in my house can be locked out of if necessary so I can enjoy some peace and quiet and temporarily obsess over things like pore size rather than tamper tantrums.
The last few weeks have been an emotional roller coaster.
A close relative of mine has been seriously ill. And since I haven’t been able to see or talk to her at all, a paralyzing feeling of helplessness has left me rather anxious. Worrying lots and sleeping little is truly exhausting and makes “being on” all day with my kids and taking care of myself so much more challenging. Time to dig myself out of the funk!
Yesterday, I dragged my butt to yoga and slept a triumphant (uninterrupted!) eight hours which made me feel almost good as new today. The other thing that usually gets me out of a daze? Beauty talk. Beauty talk in all its glorious frivolity seems to always do the trick rather quickly so let’s have at it, mamas! Shall we?
Ladies and gentlemen…Summer is officially here!
In the Sonoran Desert, the thermometer hit triple digits a few days ago and I have a feeling the heat is here to stay. With the rising temperatures comes lots of fun in the sun such as pool parties, beach vacations, and splash pad play dates. And you know what that means: For the next few months, we really have to step up our sunscreen game to ensure our skin will still look healthy and glowing after Labor Day.
Just remember what I said the other day – while the market is vast, not all sunscreen is created equal! When it comes to sun protection, as with most products, quality and ingredients do matter. But where to begin? To save you time and effort, I have compiled a list of my top tried-and-true sunscreen brands that are deemed safe by the EWG. Now all you have to do is apply and re-apply!
